From our modest beginning as a family business in Hayward in 1970, to our relocation to Pleasanton in 1988, Silmar Flooring has maintained a strong sense of family values throughout the years. David Silva and his father, Ernie Silva founded the company in 1970. Since then, David has been the driving force behind Silmar Flooring. David has built the company from the ground up, relying on his hard work and desire to be a competitive force in the floor covering industry. He successfully built the company relying on hard work, a steadfast adherence to ethical business practices, and forty years of knowledge in the floor covering industry. David primarily works within the Commercial and Hotel/Hospitality side of the business. His wife, Eileen Silva, heads the Residential side of the business, and his son, Christopher Silva works on both Residential and Commercial jobs.

Silmar Flooring has to its credit many successful commercial projects with well known hotels, senior centers, large and small office building, and apartment accounts. Our installation crews are professional, courteous, and very experienced in the installation of the most elaborate flooring designs in carpeting, ceramic/porcelain tile, hardwood, and laminate. Our installers are experts in their craft and take pride in their workmanship and service. Silmar also keeps up to date with the latest in flooring trends, products, and installation techniques. Our installers are also provided with training on the installation methods for these new products.
